Midterm Process and collaboration

I was in a group of 3 for the midterm (me, Mike and Kam) The process had it’s ups and downs but overall it was a success. We all had a lot to bring to the table which made the process very difficult. Also figuring out what times worked out to meet was a pain in the butt. What made things even more frustrating was figuring out how we could all work on one paper without making it seem as though it was 3 different papers pasted one after the other. I had to keep reminding myself not to over impose my thoughts when we met together.

Figuring out a process to write our paper was a process on its own. Because all our thoughts needed to be reflected on the paper we divided out 2 of the 12 topics drawn out of “The Rich and The Rest of Us” to each member to riff on and present how the young America was the solution for each of the problems. We then put our work on one drive and reviewed each others work. Finally we drafted up an intro and a conclusion fitting for our paper.

I learned a lot about teamwork and the necessity of effective communication during this assignment. I was also very impressed by the work of my teammates which motivated me to hold up my end of the work load. The teamwork aspect was equally as time consuming and difficult as the assignment itself. If I could do it over again I probably would just do it with one teammate to prevent constant thoughts and ideas clashes.
